The Community Relations committee has expanded the categories in 2024 to now include the educational Ellie to the academic institution that has shown a commitment to providing well-trained students in careers that involve drone operations and expertise.

- 2024 Corporate Ellie Awardee–Futurology
- 2024 Educational Ellie Awardee–Indiana University of Pennsylvania
“When we began the Ellies in 2022, there was great hope that recognizing these various drone leaders in Pennsylvania would help our citizens further appreciate the great promise that unmanned flight could have in our state,” admitted Dr. John G. Duesler, Jr., President of the PA Drone Association. “Yet, the Ellies have given us so much more than that! We are finding that drones and the #DroneEconomy are acting as a unifying force across all types of state cohorts. From the blue collar workers to public safety officials to tech companies to aviation professionals, drone are now capturing the imagination of all of them, as they work to now capture the potential of these new flyers.”
