The spirit of celebration was certainly in the air on a chilly December 13th evening in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, as the holiday lights were ablaze and the PA Drone Association announced the inaugural “Ellie Award” winners to recognize the accomplishments of both a corporate and individual leader in the commonwealth’s drone industry.
Held at the THINK Center of the Wyoming Valley Chamber of Commerce, OneSky from Exton, Pennsylvania and John Eberhardt, from ATA, were feted as the inaugural awardees at well-attended elevatePA event.
Mike Tornetta, accepting for OneSky, shared that his company was humbled by the recognition, as they continue to develop unmanned traffic management systems (UTMs) that are being adopted throughout the globe. With the expected and explosive growth of drone operations in the future, the UTM systems developed by OneSky will be an essential component to ensure safe missions.
John Eberhardt, the individual Ellie award winner, is a systems engineer, with an expertise in aviation that he is generously sharing up and down the drone industry in Pennsylvania. His contributions are fast-forwarding the integration of UAVs (drones) into the fabric of multiple public service functions and industrial operations.
